Mariia came into this world as the second of twins. The delivery was premature and incredibly difficult. Oxygen deprivation in the first minutes of her life dealt a heavy blow to the baby’s brain, mercilessly blocking her speech channel. While other children were learning to babble, Masha was silently fighting for her life in the intensive care unit, overcoming a severe infection. Now Masha is already 8 years old. This is an age when children shower their parents with hundreds of questions, share secrets, and laugh loudly on playgrounds. But silence reigns in Mariika's room. The girl's speech is almost completely absent. Her family has been waging a desperate, exhausting battle for every single spoken word since the day she was born. Every sound, every new emotion is the result of colossal work and a mother’s tears.
Masha reaches out to this world every day, trying to explore it, express her feelings, and take small steps forward. She desperately wants to be heard, but she is held back by a severe autism spectrum disorder and accompanying neurological complications. For Mariika, rehabilitation is not just a treatment. It is her only bridge to a normal life. This is a vital, regular support, without which her fragile development could simply stop, and all previous achievements could vanish. Consistent, systematic sessions with specialists (sensory integration, behavioral, and speech therapy) help her move forward and learn what is natural for most children: to speak, play, and communicate with her mom and dad.
Her parents give Masha all their strength, love, and financial resources. But they can no longer afford the continuous, expensive rehabilitation courses on their own. The family's resources are completely exhausted, but a mother's heart believes: Masha will speak. Please help Mariika complete this vital rehabilitation course. For her, it is the only chance to grow, learn, and finally break free from the prison of silence. Every single hryvnia you donate is the girl's step towards the life that every child deserves.
