But it's just a dream...

There are children who experienced hypoxia in the womb, when the doctors observing the pregnancy did not notice the pathological condition. Or those who were starved of oxygen at birth and should have died but somehow survived. Doomed to be treated for years and, if lucky, to get closer to a normal life. Maria is one of them.

She is already 19, and although mentally she is still a small child, physically she is an adult. It is becoming increasingly difficult for this family to raise funds for another rehabilitation course, and it is almost impossible to find resources. Mom planned not to take her daughter for treatment, but lately Masha's health condition has worsened and, on top of that, she broke her leg. Intensive rehabilitation of the joints will be required under the supervision of experienced rehabilitators.

In addition to the fact that the girl moves with difficulty, does not speak and does not "engage" in interaction, as a result of oxygen starvation, she also has systematic epilepsy. To prevent attacks, Maria takes medication for life. This is a critical necessity. With taking 2-3 pills a day, the disease is not so terrible. But it is necessary to react very quickly to any changes in the body in order to prevent relapse.

At the moment, the girl needs to be given a third antiepileptic drug, which will allow to reduce the dose of the other one, the toxic dose of which already causes many side effects: blood parameters have deteriorated significantly, tremors and problems with the thyroid gland have appeared, hair is falling out, and others.

Maria has only her mother, her father died when she was a baby. This is the second time the family has become internally displaced (in 2014 and 2022). Renting a house takes 70 percent of their modest social benefits. Mom cannot go to work, and Maria needs care 24/7. They have only you and me.
