Give the opportunity to hear for Nikifor and Lera

Nykyfor and Valeria are brother and sister who have hearing impairment. Valeria is the older sister, she is 13 years old, Nykyfor is 11, and their diagnosis is chronic bilateral sensorineural deafness. Nykyfor and Valeria's parents are also deaf, so they were prepared for their children to have hearing impairments. Grandfather Dmytro is actively involved in the upbringing of his grandchildren, as he can hear and helps them to establish relationships and solve problems.

The children had free hearing aids that they had been wearing since they were 3 years old, but a lot of time has passed, and now they are no longer suitable – the children have grown out of them, they lack power, and therefore the children desperately need new high-quality and powerful devices.

Nykyfor and Valeria study at the Berezivka Special School in Zhytomyr region, along with other children with hearing impairments. Lera plays volleyball, and Nykyfor likes to draw. However, the children also need to develop skills to communicate with other people in society, and this is impossible without hearing aids. The devices help children with acute hearing impairment to hear the world around them, which, in turn, helps in speech development, communication and socialization. The sooner a child receives a hearing aid, the more chances he or she has to be a full-fledged part of society. After all, people with hearing impairments often cannot get an education, find a job, and are afraid to go outside their familiar world. Hearing aids play a significant role in overcoming these barriers.
