On February 24, 2022, the war began. Yana had high hopes that their small town would remain quiet and safe. However, their town of Marganetsk was constantly under attack, and she, her son, her adult daughter, and her two-month-old granddaughter were forced to leave the city.
With the help of the “Rescue for Mom.2” project, we were able to purchase sensors for an insulin pump and necessary medications throughout 2022 and send them to Poland, where Yana is currently staying with her children.
Throughout 2023, thanks to the funding of our project, we provided Yana with important assistance totaling 31,590.86 UAH. This amount included:
medications,
a new reader for sensors,
sensors for use with an insulin pump.
Support continued in the future:
February 2024 — 4 more sensors were delivered for a total of UAH 10,000;
September 2024 — 2 sensors were delivered for a total of UAH 4,500;
January and April 2025 — 4 sensors per month;
June 2025 — 2 sensors;
August 2025 — 3 sensors.
All funds were used exclusively for their intended purpose — to support Yana's life and health.
