Kharkiv lives under constant shelling. But even in such conditions, children are born here. The 6th maternity hospital continues to operate and save the lives of newborns, many of whom are premature babies.

Premature births are one of the main problems today. Due to stress, war, and difficult living conditions, the number of such cases is only increasing. These children are particularly vulnerable: their organs are not yet ready to function independently, and every day without medical support can be critical.

One of the biggest risks is neonatal jaundice. In most cases, it goes away on its own, but in premature babies, it can be life-threatening. If the bilirubin level is too high, it can lead to serious complications: brain damage, hearing and vision problems, and developmental issues.

To diagnose and treat jaundice in a timely manner, doctors need modern equipment:

- a phototherapy lamp — helps to safely reduce bilirubin levels;

- a non-invasive bilirubinometer — allows you to quickly and painlessly measure indicators without taking blood.

Currently, hospitals lack this equipment. Thanks to the donors at dobro.ua, the necessary funds were raised and the equipment was delivered to the hospital.

We would like to thank every donor at dobro.ua who contributed to the fundraiser. Your donations have been transformed into equipment that saves the lives of Ukraine's youngest citizens.
