Project resumption
Dear Donors,
By circumstance Artem has to go through the surgery once again. It will be done in another clinic. This is about facial plastic surgery to remove tissues that were formed during the previous ones. Therefore we appeal to the UBB ICF for support, namely to resume the project and continue the funds collection.
Artem was hospitalized in the clinic "Halle" and stayed there from 15.07.2020 to 20.07.2020. During this time Artem’s tracheostomy hole was closed (namely the tube was removed, the hole’s stitched up and now Artem breathes by himself), laryngoscopy, examination of the larynx, removal of four teeth by maxillofacial surgeons (seized the moment when Artem was under anesthesia during the tracheostomy surgery.) The surgery went through without complications. Artem quickly learned to breathe on his own and currently has no breathing problems.
However, as the German charity fund “Ein Herz für Kinder” paid in full for Artem's treatment at the German Halle Clinic, the funds that were raised by the project “Smiling through pain. 6”in the amount of UAH 116,000 were not spent. As agreed upon with the UBB ICF team and knowing that more surgeries will be needed in future, these funds will be spent on Artem's next surgery.
September 29, 2020, we have received a bill for the next treatment (plastic surgery on Artem's face) totalling 8,550 euros (equivalent in UAH 282,000) at clinic in Eberswald, but due to the pandemic the clinic does not know when it will be able to take Artem for the operation. Approximately the operation is possible in the spring or summer of 2021.
Thus, taking into account these circumstances, we are resuming the project on the website dobro.ua and continue to raise funds in the amount of 280,000 UAH for the next surgery of Artem Stadnik in the clinical center of vascular anomalies in the clinic of Werner Forßmann (Werner Forßmann Krankenhaus, Eberswalde, Germany).
