To help babies
Babies are born in the country every minute, and it often happens that their fate does not depend on them from the first second of life. Intensive Care Unit of The Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of Ukraine is in dire need of heart monitors to monitor the cardiovascular and respiratory systems in newborns and older children.
The Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of Ukraine is a unique institution that cares for newborns with congenital malformations and babies who have life-threatening pathology and who need intensive care. The Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, namely the Department of Pediatric Surgery, performs complex and unique operations on children of all ages. In young children, and especially in newborns, surgery is the most risky procedure, but without these interventions their lives are impossible. To monitor the condition of young patients during surgery and after one of the important devices is a cardiomonitor.
Cardiomonitor – a device for round-the-clock monitoring of cardiac activity. This device is used in many cases. The recording of the electrocardiogram is played back on the screen, and in case of arrhythmias an automatic alarm signal is given, which allows to react in time to changes in the work of vital organs and to prevent negative consequences. During the year, more than 300 children in intensive care are treated in the department.
Of the available 8 monitors – 2 are out of order and can not be repaired, 3 monitors have run out their term. As a result of the purchase of heart monitors, more than 500 children a year will have access to vital signs monitoring after undergoing complex congenital surgery.
They really need your support!
