"Hi, I'm Vasilok!", every day the doctors of the oncohematological department hear such a congratulation from the 4-year-old Vasylyna Burlina. She literally rages with life's emotions. Previously, Vasylyna was running and jumping a lot. Now such an activity is absolutely contraindicated for her because a terrible diagnosis myelodysplastic syndrome has become a threat to her life. Recently, Vasylyna began attending a kindergarten. She adapted so difficulty to new conditions, she was very tired and nervous. So, in June 2018, doctors diagnosed her with a myelodysplastic syndrome.

The child's bone marrow does not produce enough platelets and red blood cells. Therefore, blood does not perform protective functions. There is a high risk of conversion a myelodysplastic syndrome to leukemia. The disease does not retreat by itself. Only bone marrow transplantation (ВМТ) can cure such disease.

Tipping showed no fully compatible related donor for Vasylyna. Therefore, it is necessary to search for a compatible unrelated donor or haploidic related donor. Transplantation should performed as soon as possible until the syndrome has gone into blood cancer. Parents decided to take Vasylyna abroad for treatment. The Bambaino Gezu Hospital in Rome is ready to take the girl for BMT. Treatment costs 158 000 Euros.
We plan to rise 100 000 Euros on the UBB to cover part of the cost of BMT.
