Run with credit to the Heart 2015

Only a few medical institutions of Ukraine have the ability to diagnose cardiac diseases and prevent its development. Our goal is to help kids with congenital heart diseases. Anyone can support the initiative and show their concern as direct participation in the "Run with credit to the Heart" in a city or donating a charitable contribution. All the contributions will be transferred for the purchase of medical equipment.

According to statistics of mortality inborn heart diseases take first place. Nearly 7 000 children annually are born in Ukraine with inborn heart diseases. 3 000 kids die EACH YEAR due to lack of diagnostic. Almost 40% of children are doomed to die in the first month of life, and 60% out of the rest in the first year. With timely diagnosis and treatment 95% of children will have a healthy heart and full life.

First "Run with credit to the Heart" was held in Kherson in 2010. For five years the project has expanded its geography. In 2014 charitable action taken for five Ukrainian cities: Dnepropetrovsk, Vinnitsa, Kherson Kremenchug and Lviv. 14 740 inhabitants of the cities concerned participated in the event. Total amount of UAH 606 957 were collected for the purchase of cardio equipment, which in December 2014 was transferred to local hospitals and maternity hospitals in cities where the runs were held.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the participants, partners and indifferent, who supported the project with online contribution at "Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace" together with purchasing of cardio equipment 3 occluders (implants) were bought, to be implemented in the heart of the child and eliminate congenital heart disease, ensuring heart surgery for 3 kids.

During the entire existence of the Project, 16 runs were held, 57 345 participants took part in the events, modern equipment for regional hospitals were delivered on the amount of more than 1.5 million UAH.

In five years Runs became a good family tradition for participating cities. Every year more and more residents respond to the call to take part in the event. The trend is inspiring. Our society is changing for the better, we are more willing to respond to the call to help those who need and make contributions, whether its participation, a sincere word of support or donations - these are all invaluable contributions to the healthy future of our children. Strong and relevant actions by local authorities, communities and businesses are the way to address the problem.

In September 2015 "Runs with credit to the heart" will be held in five cities of Ukraine on the following schedule:

Kyiv – September 6 (Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac MoH Ukraine)

Vinnitsia – September 12 (Vinnytsia City Hospital "Center of Mother and Child")

Lviv – September 13 (Lviv City Children Hospital)

Kherson – September 20 (Kherson Regional Children Hospital)

Kremenchuk – September 26 (Kremenchuk City Hospital #2)
