Silver lining
Even the most committed optimists have to agree that sometimes external support is vital. Vika Babytska aged 16 is confident that she will overcome the lymphoid tissue disease, she believes in the best for all she is worth and does not stop fighting for her future! Our obligation is to come up to this belief and courage, make the fight easier and bring the recovery nearer.
In September 2012 merry and cheerful Victoria Babytska became the first-year student of the Amvrosiivka Industrial College, hoping to acquire a speciality of accountant. Vika soaked herself in student life with pleasure and enthusiasm: she attended classes, no amateur concert was held without her engagement. The beauty of Victoria’s voice mesmerized all people who heard her singing.
Nothing seemed to be threatening. But in November 2012 misfortune came to Victoria: there was scleronodular lymphogranulomatosis diagnosed, which is a malignant disease of the lymphoid tissue. Since January 2013 the girl has been undergoing treatment at the Children’s Oncohematological Department of Gusak Institute of Emergency and Restorative Surgery of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in Donetsk. To date Victoria has undertaken three courses of chemotherapy, expensive medicines having greatly undermined the financial standing of her family. The girl is keeping her chin up, supporting the people around with her optimism and belief in recovery. But the disease is holding ground. In the nearest time she needs to undertake another chemotherapy and a difficult rehabilitation process.
A child in the family is a light raylet of happiness and hope for his or her parents. And if misfortune knocks at the door, it is a real trial not only for the child but also for the family. All forces of a seriously ill child and his or her parents are focused on fight against the disease, whereas all dreams are about the time when the disease will eventually fall behind and it will be possible to return home. Long-lasting treatment requires huge financial resources which unfortunately many parents lack. Doctors know how to fight against the disease, sciences- pharmacologists discovered medicines against it and there are hospitals in place. There is only one “trifle” missing – the means to buy all this and pay for it.
We kindly request all those who care for Victoria’s fate to support the girl in undergoing this test that is so important to her. Present a silver lining to Victoria!
