For most young people, it is natural to have a social circle, spend time together, handle everyday tasks, and share their emotions. These simple moments are what create a sense of a full and meaningful life.
However, young people with psychosocial and complex disabilities are often deprived of these opportunities not by choice, but due to the lack of accessible and safe social spaces.
After completing their education, many of them remain isolated at home, without regular social interaction, personal development, or opportunities to take on new social roles. This places an additional burden on families, who are often forced to provide constant support on their own, without sufficient resources or available alternatives.
The NGO "Dream Workshop" created Day Centers – safe spaces where young people with disabilities receive daily support, develop skills, gain confidence, and feel part of the community.
Our Day Center offers:
-
daily life and self-care skills;
-
cooking and shared meals;
-
emotional education and anxiety regulation;
-
financial literacy in accessible formats;
-
music therapy, creativity, and book club;
-
participation in community life – excursions, workshops, and camps, including in the mountains and abroad.
It’s an ordinary space – but here, young people receive daily support, connection, and a chance to grow.
We are raising UAH 166 363 to cover the consultant’s fees for social adaptation and supported employment. With your support, 29 young people with disabilities attending our two Day care centers will have the opportunity to receive professional consultations for six months. The cost of a single consultation is 1,948 UAH. The knowledge and recommendations gained will help our students transition to the open or supported labor market.
"Dream Workshop" is an NGO founded in 2015. We create opportunities for young people with disabilities to live with dignity – not in isolation, but within society.
Our areas of work:
-
Day Centers – meaningful daily routines, support, and development;
-
Supported living Houses – alternatives to living in closed institutions (internats) and psychiatric hospitals;
-
Family support – psychologists, professionals, and consultations;
-
Public advocacy and education – changing attitudes toward people with disabilities.
Our Day Centers currently serve 29 young people, 14 of whom used to live in institutions and are now experiencing community life for the first time.
Your help can transform lives.
Your contribution is not just about covering the cost of a specialist’s work. It means:
-
stability for families,
-
growth for young people,
-
and everyday victories that change the future.
Support our work and help young people believe in their abilities, start working, and earn income through their own effort.
