Psychosocial support for children in times of war

Between 25 September 2026 and 1 October 2026, the ‘You Are an Angel’ Charitable Foundation team organised a social and psychological camp for internally displaced children at the ‘Angel’s Home’ Children’s Village. The project involved 19 children and 2 accompanying adults. Thanks to the funds raised on the dobro.ua platform, we were able to cover part of the cost of three comprehensive meals a day for the children. The total cost of the meals amounted to 104,370.00 UAH, including a contribution of 66,719.97 UAH from the ‘UBB’ International Charitable Foundation.
The seven-day social and psychological camp programme was packed with varied, interesting and meaningful activities that combined relaxation, physical activities and psychological support for the children. Participants had the opportunity to recharge their batteries whilst spending time in the great outdoors — relaxing in the woods, enjoying walks and riding quad bikes. An important part of the programme was the warm evenings spent together barbecuing, as well as relaxation activities, including bathing in a wooden tub and in the leisure and rehabilitation pool.
Particular attention was paid to organising leisure activities and providing new experiences: the children visited a water park, went on an educational walk through Lviv in autumn and took a ride on the ‘Carpathian Tram’. Throughout the programme, sessions with psychologists took place, which helped the children to unburden their emotions, improve communication and enhance their psychological and emotional well-being.

Thanks to a holistic approach to organising the camp, the children were able to recharge their inner resources, gain new positive experiences, regain their strength and energy, and feel cared for, supported and safe.
