To tinker a dream
Meet the students - smiling, wary, curious or careful. Someone in a wheelchair, someone with a support - 250 children study in Znamyanska special boarding school. They all have health or developmental issues that and require to take an individual approach to learning.
Our goal is to equip the school with a modern carpentry workshop, where children and teenagers with autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy could make and decorate interesting works of wood and glass with power tools. A place where children can come up with and create beautiful and useful things. Develop fine motor skills, imagination, teamwork, communicate and raise self-esteem. It is possible to develop a talent for handicrafts or skills for a future profession.
Children will learn to cut, grind, cut, drill, mill, burn, engrave, paint, glue and decorate. Under the guidance of teachers who will undergo special training, students will gain knowledge in the process of their own experience of project implementation, modeling and research material. |
