Wounds of undeclared war

Most of wounded soldiers are sent to Kharkiv military hospital. After that decision is made: whether to make a surgery or to transport him to the capital. Will the soldier survive during the transportation? Doctors lose precious time; irreversible processes occur in wounds, risk of death because of sepsis increases tenfold. We lose our soldiers due to reasons we can avoid.

You often hear the cases when people that were injured in action defending their country, have to spend their own money or with the help of philanthropists they look of adequate treatment abroad, in order to restore lost health. It's not fear! There's no place for this in our new Ukraine.

Projects, organized by the CF "Open Hearts of Ukraine" are systematic. We know that it's much more efficient to buy medical equipment for Ukrainian hospitals and save hundreds of lives here than to send one soldier abroad.

The situation with seriously injured soldiers can be changed with at least a few sets of vacuum therapy of wounds systems. Therefore for every 1 UAH raised the CF "Open Hearts of Ukraine" will add 1 UAH.

Negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is a therapeutic technique using a vacuum dressing to promote healing in acute or chronic wounds and to enhance healing of first and second degree burns.

NPWT is actively used while treating:

• Open wounds of the chest and abdomen

• Extensive trauma of soft tissues

• Acute soft-tissue suppurative-inflammatory diseases

• Chronic and acute wounds of various etiologies

• Pressure ulcers, venous and diabetic ulcers

• Burns, including the deep ones those of a large size
