Together against breast cancer

Each the 7-th woman in Ukraine is under high risk to have breast cancer. Every day in Ukraine 22 women die because of that. But cancer, diagnosed at the early stage, is able to be treated in 95% cases and the treatment itself is cheaper and less harmful in 10 times! Altogether we have to raise 700 000 UAH to buy mammographer for one of the regional oncology center. And help thousands of Ukrainian women to recognize the problem, thus to get the chance of faster recovery.

It is very important to tell all the women about importance of regular visits to the doctors. Average life period for cancer patients is about 5 years. If after the treatment a patient has no relapse, it means that in most cases disease would be overcome. In Western countries 70% of patients are saved, and only 49% in Ukraine.

"Together Against Breast Cancer" is an international program that was started by Avon Foundation in 1956. It operates in 50 countries. Over the years the Foundation managed to collect $ 860 million donations to fund research, educational campaigns for women, hospital financing and training of doctors.

What was achieved in Ukraine in 10 years? $ 2 million were collected thanks to selling “Pink ribbon” charity products and donations of philanthropists. Modern equipment that allows diagnosing cancer early was bought for 10 regional oncocenter. Two mobile mammography unita were purchased for the Crimean and Cherkassy oncocenters.

But there is still much to do! Now the most urgent need is to buy stationary mammography unit with the digitization of x-ray images and the doctor station for Regional Oncocenter. It costs 232 000 USD.

Let's help those who has been forced to measure the health of loved women, mothers and sisters of money. Every 5 hryvnia cast for this program - the salvation of one's mother or grandmother. Or at least another 10-15 years of her life.
