Takeaway Christmas Dinner for the homeless

On Christmas Eve, January 6, employees and volunteers of the Caritas SDD UGCC Charitable Foundation together with the Mutual Aid Community "Our House" organized a Holy Supper for the homeless, lonely elderly people and families in difficult life circumstances. According to the project, it was planned to distribute Christmas dinner in takeaway kits at Caritas, namely, in our social cafe "Vytania". However, plans for the project location have partially changed. In the mutual aid community, residents suddenly fell ill and we were forced to arrange separate food kits for those who came and separate tables for the homeless living in Our House, in order not to spread the cold among others. Each set (dinner) consisted of 12 traditional lean Christmas Eve dishes: kutia with honey, raisins and nuts, lean borscht, donuts, dumplings with potatoes, peas with cabbage and onions, vinaigrette, stuffed potatoes, mushroom sauce, pickled herring , compote, bread. Due to the approaching Christmas holidays, we were forced to stop fundraising at www.dobro.ua and reduce the amount of the project to the actual amount raised. However, despite the funding constraints, more than 100 beneficiaries of project "Takeaway Christmas Dinner for the homeless" received Christmas Eve food, a sense of well-being and a festive Christmas mood.
