Understand, talk, communicate!

Now Misha Bilyi is 6.5 years old; he is in no way different from his equals in an age in appearance and physically, but he is lagging far behind them in his psychoverbal development. The boy hardly perceives the speech addressed to him; his active vocabulary corresponds to the age of 3 years. He goes to kindergarten with his twin sister; he eats by himself, but does it badly; his teachers help him to get dressed. He participates in matinees, although he never recites poems, in common dances he tries to imitate. When he was 2.5 years old, Misha was diagnosed with sensory alalia; the presence of an arachnoid cyst in the brain was revealed; the child understood or said nothing. 

Since 2015, speech therapists and speech pathologists have been regularly working with the child. Since October 2018, he has been engaged in the intensive correction center “Leprekon+”. Misha also attends the specialized kindergarten “Raduzhnyi”; places are provided therein general groups for special children for whom a special program has been developed. Over the last 5 months of daily work, Misha began to perceive a simple addressed speech; teachers in the kindergarten told that he began to call them by names, and began to eat well. Classes: physical therapy, speech therapist-speech pathologist and neuro correction give a positive dynamic and it is necessary to continue working. But it’s all about finances. The cost of one rehabilitation course in the kindergarten “Raduzhnyi” is UAH 9,000. On the UBB we collect for two such courses with a total cost of UAH 18,000.

Except for Misha, there are three more children in his family – Ameliia, a twin sister, and two children under the guardianship. In 2008, Misha’s uncle died and Misha’s parents took his orphan children to their home. Misha’s mother and father are forced to work hard to maintain their large family. Funds are sorely lacking. Every month the treatment of Misha requires significant sums, which the family does not have. But parents can’t help treating their son. Therefore, they are forced to ask for help from non-indifferent people with a request to support them in this struggle for the health of their son!
