Samotuzhka

Children with cerebral palsy need ongoing rehabilitation. In addition to the main classes with rehabilitologists, children with such a disease really need the right pool, where there will be warm water and cool air in the room so that the nervous system relaxes and the body does not overheat, then the effect will be most powerful. So that children can attend such classes in Ukraine, we plan to launch the "Samotuzhka" social project, which will create a center where children from low-income families will undergo physiotherapy exercises on an ongoing basis. 

The team of Center "Samotuzhka" did the impossible and on November 9, the dream of opening a center with a swimming pool became a reality. The funds raised at the UBB website allowed to advance construction works and opened the main part of the center with a pool and a hall for physical rehabilitation. Suppliers of equipment for water purification and maintaining the required temperature and humidity are still waiting for payment for the main part of the equipment. We are making efforts to find friends and partners who will help us.

It is important that the funds raised will allow us to launch the summer program of free rehabilitation for 28 children from low-income families by the New Year holidays. Children need exactly your help.

Many families were looking forward to the opening this center, including the parents of 4-year-old Sasha. His mother Tatyana told she was offered to leave a newborn baby because there were almost no chances for his productive life. But the young parents were not afraid and began to look for ways to help the child. They took rehabilitation courses in Ukraine and abroad. The greatest progress in the child appeared during classes in the Center "Samotuzhka". The boy even began to roll over on his own. Parents did not believe that this was possible at all. Now the boy is already rising himself. If the course of training on the water continues, he will be able not only to rise but also to start walking. These are the hopes of the coach and parents.

New center with a pool is a chance for Sasha and other children to learn how to move and walk independently. The center is the only opportunity to continue permanent rehabilitation and bring the long-awaited first step closer! The center needs your help in completing repairs, paying for equipment and launching a free program for low-income families.
