She was born… and didn’t take a single breath. On 21 December 2018, little Angelina from Rivne region came into the world without breathing. The pregnancy was monitored by doctors, and the scans showed no cause for concern… But reality turned out to be far worse than any prognosis.
What followed was like a nightmare: an urgent journey by ambulance to Rivne, hours that seemed like an eternity, and the heart-breaking words of the doctors: "There is almost no chance… They don’t perform such operations here…".
The Kyiv Heart Institute became their only hope. On the 21st day of her life, Angelina underwent a unique Glenn procedure (bidirectional cavopulmonary anastomosis) – the first time in Ukraine at such a young age. Later, she underwent another complex Fontan procedure.
Since then, the little girl’s life has been a constant struggle: low oxygen saturation, high haemoglobin, tests, cardiac catheterisation… And the life-saving medicine – Revatio. It is this medicine that helps her breathe more easily and keeps her stable. For a long time, the family bought the medicine themselves. But now they have turned to our charity fund for help.
A three-month course of Revatio costs over 66,000 UAH. This is a sum the family can no longer afford on their own.
We appeal to all of you: don't turn a blind eye. Angelina has already taken her hardest first breath – now she needs our support to keep living. Every hryvnia counts. Every act of kindness is another step towards life.
Let’s help together!
