A child's heart needs help
This project has been made possible thanks to Vodafone Ukraine’s charity program "A Good Deed as a Gift".
The mobile operator has created a convenient way for subscribers to make a positive impact. All it takes to help is to transfer any amount of bonus points to charity. Subscribers receive these bonuses in the My Vodafone app, where they can track their balance and use it for charitable causes. The main goal of this initiative is to transform subscribers’ bonuses into saved lives for young Ukrainians.
Congenital heart defects are one of the most serious issues that hundreds of Ukrainian children face each year. A seemingly healthy child may constantly be at risk, where even a common illness or physical exertion can turn fatal. However, modern medicine offers an effective solution – though a costly one – to correct heart defects through endovascular surgery using a heart implant. These surgeries last only a few hours, and children are typically discharged from the Amosov Institute within three days. This implant, known as an occluder, can range in cost from 41,000 to 134,071 UAH, which poses a significant financial burden for many families.
Thanks to this project, the heart of one young patient at the Amosov Institute will be saved, giving them a chance at a healthy life.
