Heartbeat

Together, we will do something unusual, special, which we have not done before - everyone will be able to become a part of a HEARTBEAT project. Whoever has in his heart what is beating inside of ours, will have an opportunity to contribute to change, namely the adaptation of children with disabilities into active and creative life. We will raise funds for the repair of a classroom in an inclusive school of a full-study cycle (from the 1st to the 12th grade) №168, where 566 children are studying, 96 of them are children with disabilities (38 are moving with the help of wheelchairs). It was in this educational institution that inclusive education was started in 2006. Education is completely free. In addition, children with disabilities have lunches at the expense of the government. There is also a transfer for children who have problems in moving. In the morning, it takes them to school, and after 6 p.m. it carries them back home. Children from almost all districts of Kyiv study at this school, because inclusive schools are still not enough for children to study in their area. In 2015, the school was undergoing general repairs, but there is a need of help in repairing classrooms, one of which is the classroom for creativity lessons, where children learn how to draw, decorate, sew, they learn decoupage techniques and other creativity developing programs.

The HEARTBEAT project itself was created by Aleksandra Ayshpur aiming to realize classroom repairs. She was inspired by her sister and two nephews, who study in the school number №168, and they study together with kids with disabilities. It does not limit them in any way, ut teaches humanity and ability to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves. The 3D project of a new classroom was created, the total amount for repairs is 142 235 UAH, and thanks to the Ukrainian Philantropic Marketplace we plan to raise 40 627 UAH for performance of works. Masha and Dmitry are waiting for their new classroom, where they will relax and create interesting things for their social projects.

Painting of the chalk wall
Painting of the walls and ceiling
Plastering of slopes
Laminate installation
Dismantling and installation of window sills
Removal of construction debris
Replacement of electric wires

TOTAL: 40 627 UAH.
