Diana Lashchenko is a 3-year-old girl from Khmelnytsky region, born full-term and healthy. But already in the first days of her life, doctors discovered a congenital heart defect - patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Initially, the family hoped that the defect would close on its own, but this did not happen. Three long years of hopes and observations resulted in the doctors' decision: endovascular intervention with closure of the ductus using an occluder was needed. This is the only way for Diana to live a full life without a threat to her heart. But the cost of the occluder is unbearable for the family.
Thanks to Vodafone Ukraine's charity program “A Good Deed as a Gift”, an endovascular surgery to correct the congenital heart defect was successfully performed on July 8, 2025.
