A chance for a fulfilling life

Maxim is the mother's long-awaited child. He was born 2 months ahead of schedule, weighing 1.8 kg. The condition was very serious. The doctors did not even guarantee him a chance for life. Life was divided into "before" and "after". Behind there was a happy and calm life, a joyful expectation of a child, and a complete unknown awaited in front: will the child survive? how badly is the brain damaged? will Maxim be able to recover, yes, and live in general?

Maksimka's life began with resuscitation. For a week, mom stood at the ditch for premature babies, where her son lay and prayed. I looked at him entangled with wires, stroked the pen and did not cry – no! The doctor said that he needed to instill a desire to live and my mother held on, spoke gentle words and he began to move. Maxim survived, contrary to forecasts – he turned out to be stronger and only a year after the birth Maxim was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. And for eight years now Maksimka has been constantly struggling with cerebral palsy problems.

Maxim grows up as a cute and patient boy. This year he began his studies in the 1st grade (at home). He knows how to talk and recite poetry, knows the alphabet, colors and shapes, loves to draw. Doctors say that the child has a chance to restore at least part of the functions, and this is very important – at least Maksimka will not be so dependent on outside help when he grows up. It would be a miracle to fully recover, but it is quite possible – no one can predict how Maxim's body will respond to various types of treatment. For example, the boy responds with improvements to the method used in the Center for Rehabilitation "Vilniy Rukh", but his mother has no money to continue it. And in many respects it depends on them whether this miracle will happen or not. It is possible to cope with the consequences of cerebral palsy and acquire motor skills, but this requires long and hard work and considerable funds. Maxim's and mother's only source of income is Maxim's disability pension.

Maxim is a fine fellow, so small, but so stubborn and diligent. With full dedication, he is engaged in rehabilitation centers and at home, and always tries to do at least a little, but more than what he can. With each new rehabilitation, Maksimka has positive dynamics, positive forecasts and high hopes!

Right now, according to doctors, there is a chance to restore Maksimka as never before! The child has the most favorable age for this now. Everything rests on the financial part of the issue, for my mother not to pay for treatment in a specialized clinic is too large a sum. Let's all together help Maksim to return childhood and a chance for a full life!
