Happiness in her palms

Sasha was born in a complete and happy family – everyone was looking forward to her birth. Back in the maternity hospital, the doctors noticed a tumor on the right arm – the diagnosis was "lymphangioma of the right hand" – congenital pathology, characterized by the formation of a benign tumor in the lymphatic system.

In September, 2009, when the baby was a little over six months old, the first surgery took place. Since then, there will be several surgeries in Sasha's life. Parents traveled all over Ukraine and were ready to continue... Until one day the professor said: "... there is nothing else we can do, the brain cannot tolerate anesthesia so often without negative consequences. You have gone through all the hospitals, the best professors and doctors have made every effort... We need some time, perhaps we will learn something more over time".

Sasha is an active, cheerful girl. Love and joy live in the house. Dad and mom love their daughter. Sasha is an excellent student at school, is engaged in dancing, handicrafts, is fond of sports and music. Her life seems to have everything. But she asks God for one thing, she dreams that the right hand is the same as the left one, so she doesn’t have to hide it when meeting people and worry that scars will scare off her peers. In class, she is used to and is accepted. But the world is so big, and there is so much to do in it. The look of the arm shouldn't interfere with dreams of a big stage. 

"I don't want sympathy and acceptance of my problem, I want to be like everyone else. Just two identical hands. What value is this for others, has anyone ever thought about it at all?". Sasha has a chance for a complete hand reconstruction and plastic surgery in Israel. The first step is to get a consultation from one of the leading plastic surgeons in Israel. Then the doctor will determine what Sasha needs – one surgery  or a series of them to fully achieve the functionality of the hand and fingers.
