One more step forward!

Melania’s story is one of a daily struggle for development and the chance to live a full childhood. She is the youngest daughter in a family in Rivne region. From the moment she was born, her journey has been far from easy: Down syndrome, congenital heart defects, pulmonary hypertension and orthopaedic problems require constant treatment and rehabilitation. Despite this, Melania takes small but incredibly important steps forward every day.

The girl is now 5,5 years old. She does not yet speak, but is already learning to interact with the world, understand it and open up to those around her. Every session with specialists helps her to sense her body better, develop her emotions and move closer to new achievements.

To ensure this progress is not lost and to continue her development, Melania needs another course of rehabilitation at the "Sofia Health Centre" Public Organisation. This is a comprehensive programme combining work with a speech therapist, psychologist, physiotherapist and massage.

The cost of the course is  37500,00 UAH. For a family that has been channelling all its resources into their child’s treatment for a long time, this sum is far too high.

That is what has forced them to seek support.
