One day his world fell apart. After returning home from the ATO he faced health problems. A pain in the back got its name – multiple myeloma. Having congested the blood, cancer cells are ruining his bones. 

This causes constant acute pain that is hard to alleviate, besides there is a risk that this insidious disease starts to affect his kidneys and they eventually fail. But there’s another trouble Valerii found out before: the man was diagnosed a tumor approaching his spinal cord which makes the main diagnosis more severe.

Valerii served 25 years in Ukrainian Armed Forces and State Border Guard Service and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. As a reserve officer he was later conscripted and deployed to the ATO zone in Donetsk Region for 9 month. Yet his war continued in hospitals.

Today Valerii is treated by a hematologic hospital in Lviv. He has started his first cycle of chemotherapy. His mother and wife are always beside him. His parents are those who worry the most. Some years ago Valerii’s sister was also diagnosed blood cancer and then the anxiety, sleepless nights and financial expenses were rewarded by her recovery. This fact gives more hope for the treatment results.

Valerii’s family has already spent 50000 UAH, their last money, for the first cycle. And there are more cycles to go, not to mention radiation therapy and stem cell transplantation his family is unable to cover. That is why other people’s help is required!
