Mykyta has been diagnosed since birth: Movement disorder syndrome in the form of flaccid tetraparesis. The child needs to undergo systematic rehabilitation 2-3 times a year at the International Centre for Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology. This centre successfully treats all types of developmental delays in children, provides medical and rehabilitation services, stimulating the functions and skills that underlie all human capabilities (speech, attention, memory, learning, reading, motor skills, self-control, etc.). As a result of treatment and correctional and developmental programmes, the efficiency and productivity of the brain increase, which leads to a significant improvement in spoken language, motor skills, reading speed, as well as to the correction of coordination, gait, and balance.

Our goal is to compensate for Nikita's condition as much as possible, reduce the likelihood of contractures and skeletal deformities, teach the child self-care skills and improve his adaptation.  

Thanks to charitable contributions, the amount of UAH 35,000.00 was raised on the platform of the UBB Charitable Foundation dobro.ua and we provided the rehabilitation centre with a letter of guarantee to pay for Mykyta's treatment. The course of treatment lasted from 23 September to 02 October 2024. After receiving the documents from the rehabilitation centre, we paid the invoice in the amount of UAH 35,000.00 (thirty-five thousand hryvnias and 00 kopecks).

His mother wrote in a letter: ‘We are extremely grateful for the next rehabilitation course. This course was no less important, and perhaps even more useful and effective, because we consolidated the recent course we had already completed before school.
During this course, we attended: classes with a speech therapist, classes with a correctional teacher, classes with a psychologist (psychocorrection), sensory integration, and exercise therapy.

During the psychocorrection session, we were helped to deal with his inner state, because lately Nikita has been very withdrawn. Even for us, his parents, it is difficult to understand what is bothering him. They explained that this is a medium-term process, while psychotherapy is a long-term one. Therefore, we hope that these are just the consequences of adaptation in the classroom, and we just need to gain strength and give him time.

In physical therapy, we improved our overall muscle tone and worked on coordination.
In the sensory integration class, we worked on the development of sensory systems: visual, auditory, tactile, and vestibular perception.

The children worked with the teacher in different areas: logic, writing, reading, arithmetic, creative tasks.
With the speech therapist, we worked on articulation and pronunciation of sounds [L, K, R] and phrasal speech. Speech is also difficult, because due to weak muscles of the speech apparatus, the pronunciation of words is unclear and phrase speech is poor. The speech therapist gave us advice and homework.
