Preterm infants are not just small patients. These are children for whom every minute of life is a struggle. Their lungs, heart, and brain are still forming, and any fluctuation in the level of oxygen in the blood can be too expensive.
That's why, thanks to benefactors, we have transferred 2 pulse oximeters to the Central City Clinical Hospital of the Chernivtsi City Council.
A pulse oximeter is a simple but vital device. It measures the level of oxygen in the blood and heart rate of infants every second. Its data is a signal for the medical team to act instantly as soon as a threat appears.
In times of war, the number of preterm births is on the rise. Doctors are working to the limit, often without sufficient equipment. That is why our support is not a luxury, but a necessity.
