During the holidays, Andriyko walked outside, caught snowflakes in his hands, and enjoyed the crunch of snow under his feet. He also played and made snow angels!

Andriy could be playing ball on the playground, but instead he fights for his health every day. When other children choose ice cream or chocolate, this boy chooses what to eat so that his condition does not worsen.

Andriy has congenital lactase deficiency. He weighs only 20 kg, which is critically low for his age. Doctors allow him to eat regular food, except for porridge. But his lack of skills gets in the way: although the child regularly works with speech therapists, he still cannot chew.

Andriy lives with his mother and great-grandmother. The family has IDP status: in 2014, they left their native Donetsk. The family now rents an apartment, and all disability payments go towards paying for housing.
