Fatal meet up with a drunk person

How unpredictable our life is and how quickly everything can change!

Our ward Roman Novakovsky needs medical assistance and rehabilitation. He suffered a head injury resulting in immobility on the left side of his body. This is how the conversation with the drunk passer-by ended.

Returning home late, Roman met a drunk man on his way with no intention of having any conversation. That was the reason he received a blow to his head which became fatal for him. Roman had a head injury and fell into coma. He was urgently taken to the Jewish hospital in Odessa (Ukraine) and underwent an operation. This is when hematoma was removed. After this operation, Roman remained in coma for another 17 days. Fortunately, after coming out of it, it became clear that this young man’s consciousness, intelligence and speech were not affected. However, the entire left side of his body remains completely immobilised. His left hand is in a very bad condition. Today it is vitally important for Roman to restore the function of the left side of his body. Already in December 2021, he will have to undergo another surgery to install a titanium plate in his skull.

This is such a sad outcome of a human aggression, another example of how alcohol abuse can harm. Roman's offender, becoming sober, could not even say what happened and why he struck that terrible blow. What a momentary turbidity and what a tragedy.

At the moment, Roman is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in the "Our care" center in Odessa region) where he is provided with full-fledged care, nutrition, rehabilitation classes, and more.

Unfortunately, Roman only has a father to support him (his mother died). Together they are trying to somehow get out of this situation. Treatment is expensive, Roman is unable to work and his father's income is completely inadequate to cover the costs. Roman has every chance to recover completely, let's help this family together!
