Childhood should be a time when the biggest worries are choosing a toy or waiting for a holiday. However, for many Ukrainian children today, these simple things are overshadowed by war. Some live far from their homes, others wait every day for their parents to return from the front line, and some have already faced the pain of loss.
Despite this, there is still room in children's hearts to believe in miracles and look forward to St. Nicholas.
The "Caritas Berdychiv UGCC" Charitable Foundation is initiating a project designed to give these children a sense of holiday, attention, and care. We want every child to feel that they are not forgotten and that there are people nearby ready to support them and grant them a bright moment of joy.
In total, 120,000 UAH is needed to purchase the gifts. On the dobro.ua platform, we are raising a portion of this required amount.
How the project works?
The gifts are prepared through the joint efforts of the foundation’s team, volunteers, and donors. A gift is put together for each child so that it is not just symbolic, but truly personal and enjoyable. Throughout the project, caring individuals – volunteers and partners – join the initiative to help gather the necessary resources and prepare the holiday packages. Some contribute financially, others with their time and effort, but together they create one big celebration for the children.
A series of festive gatherings is planned for December, during which the children will receive gifts accompanied by warm words of support and care. The gifts will be presented to the children during these heartwarming gatherings, where what matters most is not just the package, but the atmosphere of care, sincere words, and the feeling that they are remembered.
Who this project is for?
We support children whose lives have been changed by the war. These are children who have lost their homes or were forced to flee, children of military personnel, orphans, and those currently living in conditions of constant anxiety and uncertainty. For them, it is important not only to receive a gift but also to feel that they are not alone in their experience.
What will change thanks to the project?
-
Over 100 children will receive attention and personalized gifts;
-
Over 200 people will join this good deed;
-
Children will receive more than just material things – they will experience an emotion of support that stays with them for a long time.
We invite you to participate! Sometimes, a small contribution is enough to change someone's day. And when there are many such contributions, a holiday is born. Join the "St. Nicholas for children affected by the war. 2" initiative and help create a moment where a child smiles despite everything.
