The world in bright colors

The world gets better every day! And it gets better with the help of small masterpieces made by children from center for disabled youth "Amazing hands." But it is more and more difficult to paint and do art because there’s not enough money to fund the art therapy classes.

There is a leisure center "Amazing hand" created by CF "Caritas" in Drohobych. The center is attended by 21 disabled children with intellectual disabilities 5 days a week. The center hosts various activities, including training of disabled youth for independent living, various kinds of manual labor classes.

Since 2011 disabled young people had the opportunity to attend art therapy and has shown a great desire for creative activity. The children like to draw the most. Because when drawing the youth feels happy, getting in a fabulous color world of boundless imagination.

Sick children feel lack of communication and inability to articulate their feelings and express their emotions. Ability to create a small masterpiece gives them confidence in their abilities.
Art therapy is good and effective for teenagers with intellectual disabilities. In the process of drawing they give out their emotions, their energy.

Such non-verbal communication is very important for those who have disabilities of speech, difficulties with the expression of feelings and emotions. The purpose of this project - to diversify activities at leisure center "Amazing hands" organizing drawing and decoupage classes, develop creativeness and enrich the inner world of the youth. But the center does not have the money to finance the classes. We need to buy paints, brushes, palette, another office supplies. The needed amount of funds for the project - 4950 UAH.

By providing an opportunity for our disabled youth we will help them express themselves creating some masterpieces and thereby change their attitude towards world around.
