Teens who studied online for the past few years are now stepping for the first time into large lecture halls, dormitories, and new peer groups. Instead of curiosity, they often feel anxiety, shyness, and fatigue – intensified by the experience of war and the need to adapt to a new reality and integrate into rapidly changing communities.
We are raising UAH 50,000 to fund individual and group counseling with psychologists at the Svity center in Cherkasy to help these teens adapt to a new environment. This is targeted psychosocial support delivered where it is needed most – in a safe space. Supporting the program is also crucial because a significant share of schooling still happe
We work in response to teens’ own requests: "it’s hard for me to speak in a new environment", "I don’t know how to make friends in my group", "I’m afraid to ask teachers questions". Each participant receives a series of individual and group meetings at a comfortable pace. In individual sessions, a teen learns to notice and regulate anxiety, set boundaries, and find their own pace. In group sessions, they practice communication, connect with peers, and discover their experience isn’t unique. We work in the context of war and forced change: we help teens cope with the consequences of traumatic experiences, adapt to the new reality, and integrate into the community. The Svity team has three years of continuous work with teenagers; our staff includes experienced psychologists and psychotherapists. We use our own methodology, proven in practice and by results. It consistently delivers visible change: lower anxiety, easier adaptation to offline study, and better communication with peers and teachers.
Individual and group sessions at the center are held on a regular basis. On average, we hold two group sessions per week (8-9 per month) and 12 individual consultations per month. We expect at least 10 teens to complete the program, with 60% reporting reduced stress and easier integration into the learning process. Donations will be used exclusively to pay for psychological services.
Every contribution is someone’s first brave conversation after years of isolated learning and war.
Your support will help teens enter offline life and communities with greater confidence.
