You travel, love, work, learn, communicate with friends, play sports, to embody ideas and plan your exciting future. Can you imagine that all this at one point stopped? - Accident, unsuccessful diving during rest, falling from a height or wound during the performance of a combat mission in the war. This is what happens every day to dozens of people. What's next? - hospital, pain, surgery, a long rehabilitation, lack of understanding of how to live. What can be done? - As soon as possible to get into active rehabilitation camp, where they teach the people after spinal cord injury how to live - exercise, conversation, new friends, walk around the city, new achievements, life.
Active rehabilitation technique was developed in the late 1970s in Sweden, and since 1992 the practice was widespread in Ukraine and became one of the foundations of the formation of an independent and active inclusion of people after spinal cord injury in the life of society. The technique is unique and distinguishes us from both medical and other organizations and associations. It is based on the principle of "peer to peer" in which a person who has significant experience of living with a trauma or similar as a result of the diagnosis, self-confident and is a case in their way of life, by teaching to impart their knowledge and experience to others.
In the camp of active rehabilitation individual is able to understand himself and begins to feel comfortable receiving the tools and motivation to further develop their independence and understanding of the future life opportunities.
On their own, the project organizers have already collected 56% of the required amount, they plan to attract the rest through UBB.
With the financial support of Kurazh Bazar in Lviv it will create a seven-day camp for nine people who have recently received a disability and need help. The funds will be used to pay for accommodation and food of the project team.
