Support with IT education for children who lost one or both parents as a result of the war in Ukrain
The destructive, bloody war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine continues. Many cities and towns have been razed to the ground, thousands of Ukrainian defenders and civilians have been killed and tortured. Children are left without full parental care, as Russia takes away either their fathers or mothers. Sometimes both. The number of children left without full custody is unknown, but judging by the requests to charitable organizations, it is thousands. And this number is growing every day.
Children who have lost one or both parents during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine need systematic help. Most of the families are ordinary Ukrainian families with difficult financial situations. The guardians are unable to provide a full life for their children after losing a breadwinner. This also applies to opportunities to attend additional courses or clubs that children dream of. Especially when it comes to modern IT education courses.
High-quality modern education will help children who lost the world in a moment to have decent prospects, move forward with confidence and build a happy life in our country.
In order to give 340 children who lost one or both parents as a result of the war in Ukraine a chance to acquire new skills and unleash their potential in IT, Kyivstar mobile operator is investing UAH 5.8 million in IT training for children at the GoITeens online academy. The academy specializes in IT education for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17. Over the 8 years of its existence, more than 36 thousand children have received knowledge here. The training program is designed for a period of 6 months and provides children with technical equipment (laptops) if necessary. Children can choose any course from the list: Scratch, Math, iPad Drawing, Minecraft Programming Basics, Roblox Game Development, Digital Desigh, Frontend, GameDev, Python.
This important project provides opportunities for the education and development of children whose parents lost their lives for Ukraine. We believe that Kyivstar's support will change their future for the better.
Kyivstar together with its partners calls on the community to join the initiative and teach more children who lost one or both parents during the war.
We teach our children because we live here!
