Warm clothes for the affected elderly in Sumy

On September 19, the russian army shelled the city of Sumy with guided aerial bombs (KAB), hitting the Sumy Geriatric Boarding House, where 220 elderly people lived. Many of them were injured, and part of them were evacuated. Currently, 40 evacuated individuals are at the Synivskyi Nursing Home and need the most basic essentials – warm clothing and winter footwear.

Our fund’s team, based on a request from the Synivskyi Boarding House, has selected 128 units of clothing and footwear at a total cost of 45,663 UAH. This assistance will provide partial support for the victims who have endured the horrors of the shelling and evacuation on stretchers, but it can significantly improve their living conditions.

The significance of this project is hard to overestimate. Elderly people are one of the most vulnerable groups in the population, especially in combat zones. Having lost their homes, comfort, and safety, they cannot provide even the basic necessities for themselves, such as clothing. After the physical and psychological trauma they experienced due to the shelling, caring for them becomes not just a necessity but a humanitarian mission.

This project will not only provide them with warm clothing, which is critically important as winter approaches, but will also give them a sense of support and attention from society. Your donations will help alleviate the suffering of these individuals, improve their living conditions, and show that they are not forgotten, that someone cares for them during these very difficult times.
