Just breathe

UPD: dear donors! As part of this project, we started collecting funds for medical equipment - an artificial lung ventilation device.​​​​​​ However, due to inactive fundraising, the author of the project decided to stop fundraising for it and asked us to use the funds already collected on dobro.ua to buy the necessary medicines for this children's hospital the blood transfusion station. urrently, there is an acute need for it in the medical institution. Can you imagine how a child feels when he suddenly stops breathing on his own? The all-consuming fear of not being able to just breathe air, the fear of the unknown and helplessness… And what does the mother of such a child experience at this time when her child's life is in danger? If she could, she would give her her lungs, her life! Only the mother does not have the opportunity to breathe for two.

That's when the device that helps the child breathe comes to the rescue. A ventilator is needed in cases where the lungs can no longer work on their own – inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, in which case this device takes over the functions of the respiratory system.

There is no ventilator in the Oncohematology Department of the Odessa Regional Children's Hospital, there is only an oxygen mask, but in difficult cases it is not enough. We are helping to set up a ward for palliative care and children in serious condition. Now, in emergencies, children from the ward are sent to general intensive care, where there is a ventilator, but they do not always have time to do so.
