There are more than 200 oncology children registered in Odessa region. Who in intervals between difficult and exhaustive courses of chemotherapy accomplish a feat – they go to the capital to make an examination. The reason of it - there is no appropriate apparatus for such examination in Odessa. Charity Fund “Pchelka” raises funds to buy this apparatus for regional children’s clinic in Odessa which enables to examine children without making any long trip to Kyiv.

All of us once in our life had to be ill. And we know perfectly how difficult such state could be outlasted. But, we had just a cold, and, at least we had flu. You lie with high temperature, feel broken pain in your body… and dream about fast recovery.

Have you ever thought (though a lot of us heard about it on TV, from friends and neighbors) that somewhere a baby is lying in onco-hematology department who has a pain stronger in thousand times and frightening by the fact that he/she is being treated by anticancer drugs. His or her mother almost has no money to pay for the medications. For many people a treatment is a dozens of thousands UAH per a month. In addition they need make control examinations to see how the treatment is and is there a growth of cancer cells. And it is very good if there is a required apparatus. But, what should the parents of seriously ill children do when there isn’t such apparatus in their clinic?

The solution of this problem is only one – to go to Kyiv to the National Institute of Cancer to do examination. However, for children who have recently made a course of chemotherapy is incredible hard and difficult: to reach the capital and back it takes 1000 km! There is one more option – to provide a clinic where the necessary treatment is performed with necessary apparatus.

Without hesitation, we, volunteers of the Fund “Pchelka”, advised with doctors and obtained a confirmation that this apparatus is extremely needed, decided to start raising funds to buy cytological centrifuge "Cytospin 4". Only this apparatus can define precisely a number of cancer cells in organism. And there is no such apparatus in Odessa. There are more than 300 oncology children registered in Odessa region. The apparatus will be transferred to the regional children’s clinical hospital in Odessa.

Today, we had raised 71 830 UAH, 28 500 UAH is expected to be raised. We are kindly ask you to help us to raise additional 20 000 UAH. We are appreciating you all who help the children to recover. Sincerely believe that a smile of healthy child is the great miracle which can be realized with your help!

This project was canceled, the amount collected is 390 UAH. The funds were disposed of in accordance with the Rules, Principles, and Procedures of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace (UBB) International Charitable Fund and the decisions of the Project Donors.
