Care for our wounded heroes

War leaves no time to pack. When a soldier comes under fire, evacuation happens in minutes – straight from a trench or position. Within hours, they are in a hospital. Severely wounded. No backpack. No spare clothes. Nothing.

These stories are not exceptions. This is the weekly reality at Municipal Hospital №9 in Zaporizhzhia, where we – volunteers from the "Ukraine Is You" foundation – regularly deliver aid. We speak with the soldiers. They don’t ask for much. One of them, Volodymyr, said: "Friends, I just need a toothbrush and something clean to wear…".

Another defender, whom we met after surgery, thanked us for the slippers. He had just gotten out of bed – for the first time in three days. He said: "Now I feel like a human again".

This project is care packed into a box – and given to those who deserve it most.

Each of the 25 hygiene kits includes:

• clothing: T-shirt, socks, underwear, pants;

• hygiene: toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, shaving foam, wet wipes;

• comfort: towel, slippers, drinking water, deodorant.

We purchase, pack, and deliver the kits ourselves. Delivery is personal – directly to each wounded soldier. We don’t leave items at the hospital storage. We walk into the wards. We hand them over. We listen. We say thank you.

Why Your Help Is Important? These men have already paid a high price. And if we don’t take care of the basics – no one will.

They don’t need grand speeches. They need something clean. Dry. Warm. Their own.
