The disease was creeping upon Maksym long time ago and from the farness. But at first neither doctors nor parents failed to recognize how complicated and expensive it would be. Now the boy is forced to lie tied to a machine that cleans the blood of poisonous toxins and helps him live. But to break circuit this could only the transplantation of the sick organ. Donor’s kidney can return the child to a full life. Without it Maksym is doomed. Help the boy live!

Maksym was two years old when he was hospitalized with a very serious diagnosis – pyelonephritis. A large number of medications and lengthy procedures that the child suffered from, would seem to keep off the disease and would return a child to a normal childhood.

Remission lasted for six years. And then came the usual childhood disease that many kids suffer from – a chickenpox. Unluckily, to fight against a disease was very hard for Maksym – he was hospitalized with very high temperature, which had to be treated with antibiotics. Now doctors think these antibiotics were the reason that provoked deterioration of so weak Maksym's kidneys condition. Since then Maksym and his mother have stayed in various hospitals for two years. Firstly, in Dnipropetrovsk, and because of the deterioration he was sent into the main Children's Hospital of the country – "OKHMATDYT". Here for Maksym and his family there was the most terrible day of their lives – the day when the boy was diagnosed CKD (chronic kidney disease). This diagnosis was recently confirmed in Belarus. The conclusion of all the doctors was the only one – boy's kidneys are no longer able to work on their own, and they have begun to decrease in size, and the only solution is to transplant the kidneys.

Maksym is a very sensitive boy, has many fears and worries. His morale state has very noticeable effect on his physical condition as well as the test results. For such a delicate creature it is very difficult to depend on dialysis. Three times a week for 4-5 hours he has to lay tied to a machine that cleans his blood of poisonous toxins and helps him live.

Maksym spends his free time as a normal 5th grader – he plays computer games, walks in the yard. With the only difference – all of that he does at the hospital. Here he has met new friends, here at this department small patients and their parents became a big family. Maksym doesn't want to remember his normal school life and his friends from the hometown. His subtle psyche blocks these memories because they remind him how things have changed and that the ordinary life and friends might never come back to him.

The transplantation costs 60 000 USD, the family has raised for this moment 23 846 USD. Unfortunately, Maksym is very short of time. Therefore we appeal to all concerned to help Maksym in his fighting for life, because the boy is pressed for time!
