To school on his own feet

The stories of children with cerebral palsy are always very similar, but at the same time they are all very different. Depending on the degree of severity, on such kids’ parents’ involvement in the process of improving the condition, as well as on financial capabilities, one or another result can be obtained. Most often, the main goal is to provide the child with the opportunity to be independent in self-care: to be able to walk, to keep coordination, to be strong and enduring. This is the story of our ward Igor. He grows and develops in a loving family, however, due to a difficult period in their life, his relatives cannot financially provide their boy with postoperative rehabilitation.

Igor was born at the 32nd week of pregnancy. He immediately appeared in the intensive care unit where he spent 10 days under ventilation, he had both a brain hemorrhage and lung problems. The boy began to fight for his life from birth. But despite of his friends in misfortune, Igor is still one of the luckiest: he has both parents who look very well after their son. They have been taking their son to different rehabilitations in many rehab centers so far. Igor's current state is the result of his parents’ efforts as well as the boy’s.

In April, the boy underwent an operation on his legs - Achilloplasty, aimed to restore the tendon’s function and correct the feet. Then Igor spent two months in a cast. Now he is in dire need of rehabilitation. Without it, there will be no further result.

However, now the family is in a very difficult situation. Igor’s grandmother has oncological illness, his grandfather has undergone a stroke. His parents have absolutely no money left to support their own son. Therefore, the family asks for your help! In 2022, Igor is meant to have his first year at school so it is very important for him to learn to walk by September 2022 in order to walk to school on his own feet. Please, help!
