Uliana: therapy helps her

In 2018 Tania’s life changed a lot. In winter she had one daughter, and in spring she had four girls in her care. And by the fall it was found that one of her foster babies had cystic fibrosis – a severe genetic disease affecting the whole body. No, Ulia is not dying. Yes, a lot of energy, patience, and money are necessary to keep Ulia alive. But Tania is not going to retreat. She delves into particular therapies, teaches the baby regular habits – special exercises, inhalations, a lot of drugs every day – and asks our help in purchasing the equipment necessary for the treatment of Uliana and medicines for her. 

Each patient with cystic fibrosis has to buy an expensive inhaler – the most powerful one that will withstand the load (several inhalations every day, without interruptions), and a supply of breathing tubes, nebulizers, and filters that need to be changed a couple of times a year. Every day, all these tubes and cups need to be sterilized to prevent the spread of infections. Every day, in the morning and in the evening, a person with cystic fibrosis needs to perform a whole range of special physical exercises. Home trampolines are of great help to the children, and special breathing equipment is also required. All this helps to keep the lungs in good condition as long as possible. Cystic fibrosis is a disease that kills the lungs and gradually takes away the ability to breathe from a person. Therapy helps to delay and slow down the process as much as possible.

Also, a person with cystic fibrosis has to take a lot of supporting drugs all life, because the disease is complex and affects many organs. Without support, they would wear out quickly. But we know that it is possible to live with cystic fibrosis for a long time. Let's all help together to give this chance to little Uliana.
