In the first quarter of 2025, bionic prostheses were provided by the Prostheses for the Unbroken project on the Dobro.ua platform to defenders and civilians who lost their limbs as a result of various injuries, including
- Kogut Marian - a bionic prosthetic arm. At the end of August 2023, near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, Marian was seriously injured. At first, an enemy infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) hit his trench with a shell, which resulted in the amputation of five fingers on his hand. Despite this, he put on a tourniquet on his own and continued to fight. Subsequently, the position where Marian was located was covered by a 220 mm TOS-1A Soncepiok multiple rocket launcher system using thermobaric ammunition. As a result of this shelling, the soldier suffered multiple burns to his entire body, so severe that he could only be identified by his call sign. After undergoing rehabilitation abroad and healing all his wounds and scars, Marian turned to the UNBROKEN Prosthetics and Orthotics Centre, where he was fitted with a multifunctional prosthesis. Now the soldier is working hard to master the use of his ‘iron hand’ to regain independence in everyday life. The total cost of the prosthesis is UAH 413,825.

The evacuation lasted about 5-6 hours. Due to multiple shrapnel wounds and tourniquet syndrome, doctors had to amputate his right arm above the elbow. For prosthetics, he turned to the UNBROKEN Prosthetics and Orthotics Centre. In 2 months he already had a permanent bionic prosthetic arm. Now he is already mastering the use of his iron limb. He is learning to keep balance, better navigate in space, and perform everyday activities on his own - from the simplest to those that seemed impossible until recently. The total cost of the prosthetics is UAH 567,008.

Since 2019, I have already fought in most areas: Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.’ However, the defender was wounded in enemy territory. At the end of August 2024, Vladyslav was on his way to an on-site evacuation to the Suzhansky district. He recalls: ‘I was walking away from the car and at that moment a CAB came and then my right arm was completely torn off.’ In addition to the loss of his arm, the shelling severed the fingers on his other hand, and he also received numerous shrapnel wounds to his stomach and legs. Vladyslav was immediately evacuated to a stabilisation centre, and then hospitalised in Sumy.
