Prosthetics 3rd-4th quarter of 2025
During the third and fourth quarters of 2025, thanks to the “Prostheses for the Unbreakable” project on the Dobro.ua platform, defenders and civilians who lost limbs as a result of various injuries received bionic prostheses, namely:
- Mykola Teteria – a bionic prosthesis for his left arm. He was seriously wounded during fierce fighting near Vuhledar. Doctors in Mykolaiv fought for a long time to save the defender, but due to the complexity of his injuries, they had to amputate his upper limb. It was during his treatment in Mykolaiv that Mykola learned about the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv. Thanks to the support of donors on the dobro.ua platform, Mykola was able to take the next step — to get a modern bionic prosthesis for his left arm. This equipment opens up many more opportunities for the veteran in his daily life, allowing him to perform complex manipulations and be more independent. The total cost of the prosthesis is 568,771.71 UAH.
- Oleksandr Pashko – bionic prostheses for both arms. Oleksandr, 41, is from Varash, Rivne region. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked as a repairman for reactor and turbine equipment. The very next day after the start of the war, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine without hesitation. Oleksandr was seriously wounded in September 2025. An enemy drone exploded just a meter and a half away from him. The debris damaged his head and eyes, left burns on his face, and led to the loss of his limbs. Despite his injuries, he managed to reach his comrades on adrenaline, who provided him with first aid. In November, Oleksandr and his mother came to the UNBROKEN Center for treatment. Here, specialists performed complex procedures, removing debris from his left eye, thanks to which the defender began to regain his sight. Now Oleksandr works daily with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists. He recently received modern bionic prostheses for both arms. With them, the veteran is learning to perform everyday tasks again: holding a glass of water, brushing his teeth, and working with small objects. He still has to undergo surgery on his retina and laser scar removal. The total cost of prosthetics is 1,136,921.30 UAH.
