Last month, Bilal and his mother contracted COVID-19. The boy had to be hospitalised because the virus caused complications — bilateral otitis with purulent discharge, high fever and a runny nose. He had a rather severe case of the disease, and prolonged use of antibiotics led to a new exacerbation of his gastrointestinal problems. Now his condition has stabilised somewhat.
Due to the rainy weather, it is not possible to go for a walk every day, which negatively affects the child's well-being. The boy constantly focuses on his stomach pains and cries. His mother has to carry him more often, which is noticeably difficult for her. This creates a vicious circle: due to constant discomfort, Bilal loses his appetite, although it is vital for him to get enough food to maintain his weight.
The family is also not ready for winter, as chronic diseases usually worsen during this season. In addition, it is very important for Bilal to spend a lot of time outdoors.
Every day, his mother does her best to maintain her son's condition — she gives him warm baths, massages and physical exercises.
His mother, Maryam, writes: ‘I am sincerely grateful to all the caring people who donate money to buy formula for my son. Thank you all for your humanity, your big hearts, and for not abandoning us in difficult times.’
