Nutrition lessons for young patients

Did you know that balanced nutrition make wonders for children's health? This way of eating boosts the body's defenses and activates anabolic processes, leading to the recovery of health in children with various diseases. Sick children who receive balanced and sufficient nutrition recover faster, their illnesses are less likely to become chronic, and the number of complications decreases. Your contribution can be the factor that changes a young patient's life for the better!

The "INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL INNOVATION FOUNDATION" has initiated the project "Nutrition Lessons for Young Patients" to teach hospitalized children in Ukraine and their parents the basics of healthy eating, which will help strengthen their health and immunity.

The project's goals are:

• To popularize healthy eating;

• To teach children the basics of balanced nutrition and foster a positive attitude towards healthy food;

• To inform parents about healthy eating for children and create conditions for implementing these principles at home;

• To support young hospital’s patient’s through proper nutrition;

• To create a safe environment and foster friendly relationships among children in hospitals.

The first events have already taken place at the OKHMATDYT National Children's Hospital and the Kyiv Region Children's Hospital. 150 children have already learned what a balanced diet is, how to distinguish between proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and how to shape their plate to be strong and healthy.

We plan to conduct 20 more events, each with 40 child participants, in medical institutions across Ukraine where children are being treated. We are launching this fundraising campaign to organize such nutrition lessons. The total amount needed is 148,040 UAH. Each event costs, on average, 7 402 UAH. The funds will be used to pay animators and nutrition specialists, cover transportation costs, provide handouts, and offer thematic gifts for the children (healthy treats).
