The hard way to recovery. 6

Vitia Porokhovoi needs our help again! He has been struggling for his life since he was born. Due to a severe asphyxia during childbirth the baby had 4th degree intracerebral hemorrhage. The baby was delivered to the intensive care unit just after his birth. He could not breathe on his own and received mechanical ventilation of lungs for a month. The baby’s life started with such diagnoses as encephalopathy and later internal hydrocephalus, inflammation of the ventricle in the brain and meningitis. For the first year and a half of his life the baby underwent ten surgeries on brain shunting for liquid removal. Now Vitia reached many positive changes in his health state and he is prescribed constant rehabilitation courses. Another course cost is 30,000.00 UAH.

Vitia could not hold his head for a long time, he could not sit, stand or speak. He was diagnosed a coarse delay of psychomotor development and spastic tetraparesis. The child is not the only one having disability in this family. He has an elder brother having microcephaly. It’s hard for the mother to watch her children suffering, she does all possible to help them, but she can’t cope alone. Moreover, her husband could not bear such hardship and left the family.

Thanks to the support provided by Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace donators Vitia had several courses of rehabilitation and he has excellent results. At “Viktoriia” center along with therapeutic exercises, massage, movement therapy, suspension therapy, medical exerciser sessions, joints development, paraffin applications and individual exercises in the swimming pool he works with a speech therapist and psychologist.  Lots of work is yet to be done and the child does his best and works really hard. All these positive results were reached only thanks to the support of kind and caring people. The next rehabilitation course cost is 30,000.00 UAH, the family does not have such money. We ask you to respond and support the kid! He has all chances for recovery and full life!
