6-year-old Arina Mykytiuk from Rivne has only one, but such a big and important dream – to go to school on her own without a wheelchair. And being such a little girl, she is slowly reaching her dream, making every effort she can! At the age of six, Arina lives from rehabilitation to a new rehabilitation. It takes a lot of work to get on her feet! Sessions of exercise therapy, speech therapist, occupational therapist, social educators, speech pathologist, swimming - this is a huge part of her life in a child's struggle for the future.
Arina was born prematurely at the 30th week of pregnancy with a weight of 1 kg 650 g. For the first ten days of birth, she could not breathe on her own and was connected to a lung ventilation machine. For two long months, the mother and child had to live in a children's hospital for the girl to gain the necessary weight for being discharged from the hospital. Doctors prescribed expensive drugs to resorb hematomas in Arina's head and to start hematopoiesis (without a blood transfusion procedure).
Arina learned to roll over on her side, sit, crawl, take toys in her hands, and chew food later than her peers. The diagnosis of cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis of the arms and legs was set by doctors at the age of three. It was hard for parents to face the reality. Until then, despite the developmental delay, doctors said it was typical for a premature baby. Since then, the family has been struggling with her daughter's serious illness on a daily basis and continues to believe in realizing her dream of walking on her own! During this time, they conducted numerous massage and special exercise sessions both at home and in specialized rehabilitation centers, tried many procedures and various techniques in Arina’s hometown Rivne and in Kyiv, Lviv, Lutsk. In February 2021, Arina underwent subcutaneous tenofibrotoms of spastic-shortened muscles.
Over the years, they have managed to achieve serious results, but the goal of getting rid of the wheelchair completely is still ahead. And to achieve it, the girl needs the help of those who care!
In the spring, another rehabilitation course is planned at the "Healthy Child Space" Center. The girl will undergo sessions of physical therapy, massage, paraffin- and kinesitherapy. The ten-day course costs 25,000 UAH. Unfortunately, the parents themselves are unable to pay this amount, so they need financial help! 25,000 UAH is a sum that can qualitatively change Arina's life because doctors give positive forecasts!
The girl has a chance to walk independently, live a full life, and engage in ordinary children's activities, which she loves so much: playing with dolls, sculpting, drawing, and putting together puzzles. And the main thing is to communicate and play with peers!
Please, support Arina and her family! With your help, a big dream of a little girl will definitely come true!
