Easter basket for IDP

Easter is a great Christian holiday, and another opportunity to help those from whom the war took everything!

This year, thousands of people will have to celebrate the biggest holiday, which they used to celebrate with their relatives, hundreds of kilometers from home. In order for the holiday to preserve at least its attributes in the realities of war, we ask all concerned Ukrainians to unite and help us collect Easter kits for the families of internally displaced persons who live in a temporary shelter created by the CF "Caritas SDD".

From the first days of the war, the CF "Caritas SDD" in Drohobych (Lviv region) sheltered tens or hundreds of people, families with children, who experienced the horrors of war.

Currently, 200 forcibly displaced people live in the shelter. Those who are cared for by the CF "Caritas SDD" will receive Easter baskets - so that they can also feel the spirit of the holiday. The contents of each basket are designed for one family. There will be paska, eggs, sausage, butter and cheese traditional for Easter. The products will be packed in cardboard boxes (or bags) with festive themed stickers. People who live in a shelter for forcibly displaced persons will receive them.

Social workers and volunteers who have been taking care of these people for more than a year will help us form the packages, because some of them are not very mobile. There is a church on the territory of the shelter, where the festive liturgy and the consecration of baskets will take place.

So, the goal of the project is to purchase products and create 200 food Easter kits for forcibly displaced persons worth UAH 300 per kit. The contents of the set include: sausage, eggs, butter, cheese.

It is difficult to describe in words what these people feel, but for us this is a great opportunity to unite once again, help, give a holiday and support those who need it most.
