A yard, a playground, a group of kids laughing and making noise…swings, balls, bikes, fun games… Eleven-year old Arthur Kisela looks at all this from a wheelchair. This is cerebral palsy. Is it for life? I believe it depends on you and me.
The story of this boy began on March 15, 2003, and the life of his family changed forever. Their long awaited first-born son was diagnosed with the cerebral palsy. They joy of being parents became a hard trial. The trouble does not come alone, and Arthur’s father who had to become the support for the boy, hurried to leave the problem family. All the fighting for a decent life for Arthur became mother Valentina’s burden.
«… It is hard, - confesses Valentina in a sincere conversation. - Sometimes I lose confidence, and my heart shrinks from pain. All my life changed: I had to forget about my plans, my career goals, my personal life. All my life is for my child. Often I feel desperate and guilty that I cannot help my own son".
Arthur does not know what it means to move without effort and pain. Because of the disease, he is always in a wheelchair. He has spent more than one third of his life in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. The slightest movements could be achieved only with a lot of work and tears. At the age of 11, Arthur did not make a single step on his own.
From the first day of his life, Arthur and his mom need financial aid to pay for treatments and rehabilitation sessions and psychological and spiritual support. Now Valentina is asking to help her to raise money to buy an orthopedic bike for the children with cerebral palsy that has a special seat with back support and handles. .
“I want so much to believe that the first step that all healthy kids make at the age of one, my son will make at 11. For us it will be a great victory over a cruel sentence made by life, - Valentina shares with us.
The charitable foundation “Ty Anhel” is asking you to help. We need to raise 6,930 UAH ($870) to buy the orthopedic bike. For somebody this amount is not big, but for Valentina it is beyond what she can pay. We believe that together we can help the boy who is waiting for our love and support. Remember that the good that you make will come back to you multiplied hundred times.
This project was canceled, the amount collected is 3 269 UAH. The funds were disposed of in accordance with the Rules, Principles, and Procedures of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace (UBB) International Charitable Fund and the decisions of the Project Donors.
